In the “Self Made Spotlight” today is David Kamara.

David is the founder of London-based video production company House of Fire Studios. 'HOFStudios' has a mission to break down barriers and harness the creative spark of every individual, while honouring great people who have changed the world. David’s vision is to be the go-to production house for businesses who want to have a meaningful impact on their audience & community.

After a brief hiatus due to health reasons, David felt he had changed as a person and so he wanted his online image to be updated to represent that and align with his new brand values & style. David wanted his new business portraits to portray sophistication, confidence, and a sleek, stylish look. He also wanted to come across as approachable and hint at the creative side of his business.

So, A few months ago David and I spent an hour shooting around Spitalfields, which offered us a mix of creative and stylish, modern backdrops. Along the way we had fun comparing stories about working in visual media jobs and learning that we both studied at University of the Arts London.

“Personal branding photography is a game-changer, allowing you to tell your brand's story more effectively. Just for the confidence alone that it gives you when presenting yourself online, personal brand photography is worth the investment.”-David Kamara

Since our shoot, David has been using his new portraits across his social media accounts and is also in the process of setting up a new website, where many of his new portraits will come into effective use. David Says

“Using the images for my online presence, particularly on social media platforms, has significantly enhanced my credibility and given my brand a more polished look. Most importantly, I’ve found it has a psychological effect as well. It's given me the self-esteem to engage more confidently with clients, partners, and empowered me to seek new business opportunities. With a renewed sense of self-assuredness, I'm excited to seize growth opportunities and expand House of Fire Studios in ways that were once intimidating.”.

David was also recently interviewed for an article featured on ‘UAL Stories’, where he shared his journey as a creative entrepreneur, and he was excited to be able to use some of his new images to go alongside it.

“I've received great feedback about my new images. The UAL Communications Coordinator, who was instrumental in crafting the UAL Stories article said the shots are amazing! Colleagues, also, have praised the visuals, mentioning that they provide a strong first impression.”

When I asked David if he had any advice for someone who’s considering having a brand photoshoot, he said

“Prepare well and collaborate closely with your photographer to capture your brand's essence. During the shoot just have fun! Trust that your photographer knows what they’re doing and enjoy the moment.”

David is thrilled to announce that after his brief hiatus, he has recently revived HOF Studios and is back in full swing!
