In the “Self Made Spotlight” today is Lisa Violino.

At the beginning of June, to celebrate the launch of my new website, I ran a competition to win a free branding portrait session. Lisa Violino was the lucky winner and I’m so excited to share some of the images we created together last month!

Lisa is a chef and cookery teacher. Through her business Knolita Cooks she provides Italian cooking experiences, including private lessons, group classes, corporate team building and private events.

Lisa wanted her new brand portraits to be fun, joyful, relaxed, engaging, and informal yet professional.

For her brand shoot we spent an hour shooting around Spitalfields. It was quite a sunny day so we had to find some shady spots but I had scouted some locations ahead of the shoot so we had plenty of great options. And ofcourse we had a blast… I mean two Lisa’s, what else would you expect?!

As a bonus, Lisa’s cousin kindly let us shoot a few images at their restaurant Enoteca London, which had a lovely outside terrace. So we also got some great coffee shots!

“I am really pleased with the results”-Lisa Violino

Since our shoot, Lisa has been using her new images across social media and specifically to promote her Instagram Live series ‘For the love of food’ as well as some of her services such as corporate team building experiences. She says

“I’ve had some lovely compliments on them”.

When I asked Lisa if she had any advice for someone who’s considering having a brand photoshoot, she said

“I'm not usually a fan of having my picture taken [but], it’s so important for a small business to show themselves as authentically as possible” “Just try and relax and enjoy the experience”.

This month Lisa has opened the registration to her 4 week online cooking course ‘Cucina Club’, where she will walk through recipes with you step by step, in a fun & interactive way that will help you gain cooking confidence. She’ll also be hosting a fun pasta making workshop on the 17th September in Crouch End at the Miranda Café.  So head to her website to find out more: knolitacooks.co.uk

If you’re in need of some professional brand images to help you be seen, I’d love to help!

As your personal brand photographer, I’ll aim to show off your unique personality & your specific offerings in a creative way through the beautiful brand images we create together.

But don’t just take it from me, see what Lisa has to say:

“Had an absolute blast working with Lisa on my 'Starter Branding Portrait Session'. From the initial consultation call to choosing the right locations, it was all really well planned. I was sent a pre-shoot check list and information about what to expect and bring. Whilst I'm not usually a fan of having my picture taken, it so important for a small business to show themselves as authentically as possible, Lisa took the time to understand what I wanted to achieve. I am really pleased with the results. Will definitely recommend Self Made and Seen.” - Lisa Violino
